The players could each earn a bonus worth up to $91K if they are waived and subsequently spend at least 60 days with the Valley Suns, Phoenix’s G League affiliate.
The Suns are signing undrafted free agent guard Sam Hoiberg to an Exhibit 10 deal, per the Nebraska Huskers Instagram, and confirmed by Jake Fischer of The Stein Line (Twitter link). They are also signing Corey Camper Jr., according to Nevada’s official Instagram.
Hoiberg, the son of former Bulls head coach and current Nebraska coach Fred Hoiberg, is a fifth-year senior who redshirted his freshman year at Nebraska. The 6’0″ guard averaged 9.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 steals in 32.3 minutes per night this season while hitting 38.1% of his threes, and was named to the Big Ten All-Defense team.
Camper is a 6’5″ guard who played two seasons at the University of Texas at El Paso after spending two years in junior college. He then transferred to Nevada for his fifth season, where he averaged 16.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.2 steals on 39.9% shooting from deep. He was named to the All-MWC First Team.
Both players were unranked in Jeremy Woo’s final top-100 board for ESPN.
