Nuggets Reach Exhibit 10 Agreements With Three Players
Tennessee State guard Aaron Nkrumah will sign an Exhibit 10 contract with the Nuggets and is expected to compete for one of the team’s two-way roster openings, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints (Twitter link).
A 6’6″ senior, Nkrumah ranked 52nd on ESPN’s big board and was considered to have a good chance to get drafted heading into Wednesday night. His age may have worked against him, as he’ll turn 25 in November.
Nkrumah was named Player of the Year in the Ohio Valley Conference this season after leading the league in scoring at 17.7 points per game and in steals with 2.8 per night. He spent the past two years with the Tigers after starting his college career in 2020 outside of Division I.
Denver is also adding East Carolina’s Giovanni Emejuru on an Exhibit 10 deal, per Jon Chepkevich of Draft Express (Twitter link). The 6’11” fifth-year senior was one of the top big men in the American Conference, averaging 12.9 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game this season.
In addition, Missouri’s Mark Mitchell will sign an Exhibit 10 contract with the Nuggets, per Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers (Twitter link). The 6’8″ senior forward was a second-team All-SEC selection this season after averaging 18.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 33 games.
Mitchell finished 73rd in ESPN’s rankings, while Emejuru was outside the top 100.
Exhibit 10 contracts are non-guaranteed and can be converted to two-way deals. All three players will have the opportunity to earn a bonus worth up to $91K if they’re waived before the start of the season and spend at least 60 days with Denver’s G League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold.
