The Pittsburgh Steelers improved to 3-2 this past weekend with a 34-22 victory over the Indianapolis Colts at Acrisure Stadium. The Steelers offense showed some serious big-play ability with touchdown plays of 80 and 50 yards in the contest, both coming from their emerging star at running back, Jaylen Warren.
The breakout back was rewarded for his performance by being named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Warren posted 188 yards from scrimmage in Week 5, the highest mark of his career. Through five weeks, Warren is third in the NFL in scrimmage yards, only trailing superstar running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson.

This is the first AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor in Warren’s career. The running back is the first Steeler to earn an AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor since Ben Roethlisberger did all the way back in Week 10 of the 202 NFL season.
Warren is finally getting some attention for how well he has been playing over the course of the season. The running back is averaging 5.9 yards per carry through the team’s first five contests, and will likely continue to see a feature back workload even when fellow back Rico Dowdle returns from injury.
Warren is the engine of the Steelers offense and has now earned an honor that any other Steelers offensive player hasn’t in six seasons.
