The Seattle Seahawks lost a few notable free agents this year, but one of their new replacements from the draft isn’t afraid to say that he already hates the Rams and 49ers despite not even playing his first game in the NFL yet. Rookie safety Bud Clark told Seattle Sports radio this week that just by being drafted to the Seahawks, he already has a dislike for the team’s in-division rivals.
He’s just not sure which teams he hates more yet, the Rams or the 49ers.
Just being able to play the ‘9ers and the Rams, I feel like it’s a big rivalry here and I love rivalries.”
“I’m ready to kick their butt and keep kicking.”
“I’ve been trying to figure it (who I dislike more) out, I’ve been trying to weight it but right now it’s kind of even,” Clark said jokingly.
Yet another day when the Arizona Cardinals are irrelevant.
Clark is a second-round pick out of TCU and he’s tasked with replacing free agent departure Coby Bryant, who led Seattle‘s defense in snaps last year. However, the Seahawks may not have Clark start right away.

In the meantime, Seattle still has Pro Bowl safety Julian Love, as well as Ty Okada, a player who had a breakout season last year when Love missed nine games. Of course, the Seahawks also have Nick Emmanwori, their rookie safety last year who finished second in Rookie of the Year voting, but Emmanwori actually plays more nickel than safety.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald is working on how to best use his stable of players between those four and others. Clark, lauded for versatility, could have a bit part in Week 1, but a major role when the Rams face the Seahawks twice in the last three weeks of the season.
By then, maybe Clark will decide which team he hates the most. But the Rams already know how to feel about Bud Clark.
They must not like him either.
