Ahead of his birthday, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan on Tuesday treated his fans to a new poster of his upcoming film King.
SRK’s killer look meets lover’s charm in new King poster
Shah Rukh took to Instagram to unveil the poster, which captures his intense look along with his signature lover-boy charm. The poster shows SRK holding a gun in his hand, with an intense gaze, a rose clenched between his lips, and his tattooed chest adding to his rugged look.
Sharing the poster on social media, SRK wrote, “Aaj phir yaad aaya… Qaatil nahi Aashiq hoon” (I am a lover, not a killer). He added, “#KING In cinemas 24.12.26.”
As soon as the poster was dropped, fans couldn’t stop praising SRK’s look, with many being reminded of the 90s era when the superstar won hearts with his romantic dialogues. Some even recalled the line from his film Baadshah: “Aashiq hoon main, qaatil bhi hoon.” (“I am a lover, but also a killer.”)
The upcoming Hindi action-thriller King is directed by Siddharth Anand. The film is reportedly inspired by the 1994 French crime film Léon: The Professional. It also stars SRK’s daughter Suhana Khan, while Abhishek Bachchan plays the primary antagonist, a dark and violent villain.
This will mark the first time Shah Rukh will share screen space with his daughter Suhana. The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Jackie Shroff, Raghav Juyal and Abhay Verma. It is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures.
Suhana made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies in 2023, which was released digitally.
Shah Rukh was last seen on screen in Dunki, which was released in 2023. The comedy-drama, directed, co-written, co-produced and edited by Rajkumar Hirani, revolves around the illegal immigration technique known as the donkey route.
The film stars Taapsee Pannu, Shah Rukh Khan, Boman Irani, Anil Grover and Vikram Kochhar, with Vicky Kaushal making a special appearance. The film was shot across locations including Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kashmir, Budapest, London, Jeddah and Neom. It emerged as the fifth-highest-grossing Hindi film of 2023 and the eighth-highest-grossing Indian film of the year.
