Bollywood actor Govinda, who is reportedly gearing up for a major comeback with a film, has been making headlines not for his professional plans but for his personal life. Reports of marital discord between Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have been circulating, with several sources saying the couple filed for divorce. Sunita has also made explosive statements, accusing the actor of infidelity.

Govinda has responded to the claims, suggesting that someone was influencing Sunita, although he did not name the person. Speaking to ABP Live, the actor said, “It’s in my nature not to expose someone so that they start feeling embarrassed. I said seven to eight years ago that I’d go through something like this. Now, we’re all caught in that same loop. Bad reputation has always been synonymous with my name. People have told me for years that I’d betray them one day.”

The actor added that he would keep avoiding direct responses to Sunita’s claims until those allegedly influencing her gave up. He said, “I’ll keep dodging her claims till those who are influencing her get dizzy. That’s when they’ll realise they’ve messed with Govinda. Bitterness will never lead to sweetness. Once this phase passes, people will say I behaved respectfully. I’m not falling into their trap.”

When asked about the legal status of his marriage, Govinda reportedly dismissed the possibility of a divorce, saying, “No, no, we are Hindus. In our community, there is no word like divorce. The word divorce does not exist. There is no question of it.”

The speculation surrounding their relationship intensified after Govinda visited Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja pandal during Ganesh Chaturthi with his Roopa co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar, while Sunita visited the pandal alone earlier that day. Their appearance together drew criticism online amid rumours about the actor’s alleged relationship with Komal.

Sunita had reportedly withdrawn her divorce petition and later claimed that Govinda might have married again had she not taken back the case. She has also spoken publicly about the actor’s alleged affair with Komal.
