After going undrafted this week, former Miami center Ernest Udeh has agreed to sign a two-way contract with the Cavaliers, confirms Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com (subscription required). Vince Wolfram of Field of 68 (Twitter link) first reported the agreement.
The No. 72 prospect on ESPN’s pre-draft big board, Udeh spent one season at Kansas and two at TCU before transferring to Miami for his senior year. In 33 games (all starts) for the Hurricanes in 2025/26, the big man averaged 6.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, and 1.0 steals in 28.2 minutes per contest.
Known as a rim protector who plays above the rim, Udeh was named to the ACC’s All-Defensive team as a senior.
As Fedor observes, Tristan Enaruna and Riley Minix are on two-way contracts that will carry over to the 2026/27 season, so Udeh projects to go into the team’s third two-way slot, replacing big man Olivier Sarr, who is no longer eligible for a two-way deal.
As Fedor previously reported, the Cavaliers had initially hoped to sign Northwestern forward Nick Martinelli to a two-way contract if he went undrafted, but the Clippers traded back into the second round at No. 55 to acquire him.
