The NFL trade deadline is one week away.
Is the league about to be hit by another midweek wave of moves?
One week ago, player movement picked up considerably when the Indianapolis Colts swung deals to send offensive guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to the San Francisco 49ers. With teams having another window to gear up before midseason, Tuesday – which often is one of the quieter days on the NFL calendar – could see plenty of action.

Just four days after he was acquired by the Chicago Bears in a blockbuster trade, defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons has already demonstrated his value to his new team.
Simmons was an instant force in Monday night’s win over the Seattle Seahawks, recording six tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss and a pass defensed.
“You can feel his presence out there,” Bears coach Ben Johnson said in a postgame news conference. “To come in there and have a share of the lead of tackles and a sack in his first game, his impact was profound.”

At 0-7, the Los Angeles Chargers have little time to decide on whether to embrace a sell-off.
Amid questions of whether the team might move 35-year-old Khalil Mack to a contender, Jim Harbaugh made clear his feelings about the edge rusher.
“I want Khalil Mack here,” Harbaugh said at a news conference Monday. “Khalil Mack wants to be here. He’s one of the pillars of our team.”

Mack, who’s playing on an expiring contact, had a season-low 35 snaps in Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
