Daniil Medvedev has reportedly made good on his promise to apologize in person to the spectator he accidentally struck with a tennis ball during his China Open semifinal against Novak Djokovic.

According to Italian tennis journalist Lorenzo Ercoli, Medvedev visited the injured fan in hospital on Tuesday, October 6, a day after the incident.
Spanish newspaper AS, citing Ercoli’s reporting, confirmed that Medvedev made the visit to personally apologize for the unfortunate incident that led to his disqualification in Beijing.
Medvedev reportedly presented the spectator with a signed racquet bearing the message “I am sorry.”
A photo of the racquet – reportedly – was posted on Twitter.
The fan is said to be recovering well, with no serious injuries reported.
We expect to hear more about the visit from Medvedev himself, who is in Shanghai getting ready for a second-round clash with Jan-Lennard Struff. Stay tuned…
