One of the New England Patriots‘ most important players has signed a new contract. Hunter Henry, the team’s top tight end, put his signature under a two-year, $16 million contract extension on Monday.

Bernd Buchmasser: What is there not to like? Henry has been a model citizen on and off the field since arriving in New England, and he showed no signs of slowing down in 2025, producing some of the best numbers of his career. Add the fact that the team is mindful of his workload now and you should get a player who should continue to play an important role — and live up to the investment made in him | Grade: A+
Matt St. Jean: Hunter Henry is coming off his most productive season as a pro, and the veteran tight end has provided stability for Drake Maye through his first two seasons. His game as a possession receiving tight end should age well, and getting that at an average of $8 million per year is a steal (blocking tight end Charlie Kolar got an average of $8.1M this offseason.) Henry and Raridon should be the tight end pairing for the next three seasons, giving the team a high floor option while they develop Raridon throughout his rookie contract. | Grade: A+
Pat Lane: Although the extension we all have been waiting for is Gonzo, this needed to get done e too. Henry has been the most reliable target in New England for years. He’s getting older, but he had a solid year last year. This contract looks like a bargain for one of your leaders on and off the field. | Grade: A+
