Undrafted Pittsburgh wing Barry Dunning will sign an Exhibit 10 contract with the Trail Blazers, according to Sean Highkin of Rose Garden Report (Twitter link). Dunning will be part of Portland’s team in the Las Vegas Summer League and will get an invitation to training camp in September, Highkin adds.
Dunning, a 6’6″ guard, had a productive season with the Panthers, averaging 12.5 points and 5.9 rebounds in 33 games (27 starts) while shooting 46.6% from the field and 34.5% from beyond the arc. He played at Arkansas, UAB and South Alabama before coming to Pittsburgh.
The Mobile, Alabama, native wasn’t included on ESPN’s big board of the top 100 draft prospects.
The Exhibit 10 contact is non-guaranteed, but it will give Dunning a chance to earn a two-way deal in camp. He could also receive a bonus worth up to $91K if he’s waived before the start of the season and spends at least 60 days with the Rip City Remix, Portland’s G League affiliate.
