When the New York Jets lost to the previously winless Miami Dolphins, who had never held a lead at any point this season, it felt like it was over for Aaron Glenn.
However, ESPN’s Rich Cimini, after that game, told fans that while it may seem like it’s over, it isn’t yet. So what about after the latest loss to the Las Vegas Raiders?

“I hate to say it right now, you know what I said last week? ‘It’s not over,’ because I still think there’s a path to him keeping his job. I don’t see that path anymore. I don’t, and I hate to say it,” Cimini said on the “Jets Collective” podcast.
It appears Glenn is a dead man walking. There are nine games left in the 2026 regular season for the Jets, and it’s about to get ugly. The next two games include a road tilt against the Kansas City Chiefs and a home game against the Buffalo Bills.
Let’s assume those are losses; I know I’m really going out on a limb there, then the Jets would fall to 2-8. The next two games after that appear more winnable, but can you make those assumptions right now? Gang Green will get the winless Los Angeles Chargers on the road and then a road game against the Miami Dolphins.
Whether Glenn actually gets fired mid-season is up for debate, but it appears the wind is out of the sails and that’s a sad reality for a coach who has a rich history with the Jets from his playing days.
