Bigg Boss 20 has reportedly achieved a new viewership milestone after Salman Khan’s recent Weekend Ka Vaar episode, in which the actor took a stand against online trolling and body-shaming.
According to Ormax Media, the episode clocked 21 million views in a single week, making Bigg Boss Hindi Season 20 the first non-cricket property to cross the 20-million-view mark in a week in 2026.
Salman Khan takes on trolls
During the episode, Salman addressed social media users who target celebrities over their age, weight, appearance, family and personal lives.
The actor also responded to comments about his own weight. After being trolled for allegedly gaining weight, Salman removed his hat, jacket and T-shirt and challenged his critics to troll him further.
His comments extended to body-shaming of women, particularly criticism over weight gain after pregnancy. Although Salman did not name anyone, his remarks led viewers to speculate that he was indirectly referring to Katrina Kaif, who had recently faced online trolling over her post-pregnancy appearance.
Salman speaks against body-shaming
Salman questioned why women should be targeted for gaining weight after becoming mothers and criticised the wider culture of age- and body-shaming on social media.
He also spoke about the trolling faced by other members of the film industry, including his brother Sohail Khan, and questioned the mentality behind repeatedly targeting celebrities over their appearance.
Episode sparks reactions
Salman’s comments have generated reactions from several Bollywood personalities. Filmmaker Kunal Kohli praised the actor for speaking about social media behaviour, trolling and paparazzi culture.
Actor Richa Chadha also reacted to Salman’s remarks on women being body-shamed after childbirth, calling his decision to speak against the practice “magnanimous”.
