Sarr sustained the injury during an off-season workout last week. The centre is expected to recover in time for the start of the 2026-27 NBA season.
Sarr, 21, is coming off a sophomore season where he was plagued by injuries, appearing in only 48 games.
He averaged 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists in that timeframe for a Wizards team that finished last in the Eastern Conference.
Sarr was the second-overall draft pick for the Wizards in the 2024 draft, and finished fourth in rookie of the year voting following the 2024-25 season.
The Wizards are set to have the first-overall pick in the upcoming 2026 NBA draft on June 23.
