Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year, we ask questions of the most plugged-in Bears fans and fans across the country.
With Caleb Williams still likely sidelined with a hamstring injury, Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson has already made his decision; he’s going with Tyson Bagent at quarterback.

But would the grizzled veteran Case Keenum be a better option for the Bears?
Bagent now has five starts in his career, two of which were on the road, and neither of which the Bears won. Granted, those games were in 2023 when he was a rookie, and the Bears were floundering under Matt Eberflus, but playing on the road is a different animal for an NFL quarterback.
Keenum has started 70 games in his career (40 on the road), including two playoff games, one of which he won. He’s also 2-0 against the Packers, including a win in Lambeau. Granted, that was 9 years ago, but experience travels, and he showed he still has some life left in his arm a couple of weeks ago on Monday Night Football.
On The Score’s Bears-Jets postgame show, former Bears Olin Kreutz and Patrick Mannelly both think there should have been an internal conversation at Halas Hall, considering there’s now full tape on each backup quarterback.

The game plan was different for each, but both quarterbacks tried to play within the system while making a few ill-advised throws. I honestly don’t think it matters, as both players have a good grasp of the offense and one of the best play callers in the game today in their ear.
