This morning, we had a bit of speculation as to why wide receiver Jauan Jennings left his visit with the Minnesota Vikings last week without signing a contract.
Apparently, the reason was “because he wanted to give us something to write about before we went to bed on Thursday night.”

The Vikings have announced that they have agreed to the terms of a 1-year deal with the former San Francisco 49ers receiver. The terms of the deal have not been fully announced, but the deal is reportedly worth “up to” $13 million, which is roughly what the Vikings saved in salary cap space when they traded edge rusher Jonathan Greenard to the Philadelphia Eagles on Draft weekend.
Jennings, who has caught 15 touchdown passes over the last two seasons with the 49ers, will give the Vikings yet another weapon on offense alongside Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson. The report we cited earlier this morning said that he was looking for “WR2” money, and given that this is only a one-year deal, he might actually be able to get to that level depending on how the deal is structured. Addison’s cap number for this season is only around $4.3 million (his number will go up a lot next season, thanks to his fully guaranteed fifth-year option), so Jennings will likely be the second-highest paid receiver on the Vikings’ roster in 2026. He’ll still be WR3 on the depth chart, in all likelihood, but in terms of pay, he’ll be WR2.
This move is definitely going to give the Vikings an added dimension on offense this coming season, as they once again have three solid, legitimate options at wide receiver even after losing Jalen Nailor to the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency.
Let us know what you think about this move, folks!
UPDATE: The deal for Jennings is, reportedly, an $8 million base salary with the “up to” $13 million upside, per Alec Lewis of The Athletic.
