The Thunder have waived forward Dariq Whitehead, the team announced today.
Whitehead, who signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the team on Friday, is expected to report back to the Oklahoma City Blue in the G League. He spent most of last season with the Thunder’s G League affiliate, averaging 11.0 points and 2.9 rebounds in 23.4 minutes per game over the course of 34 appearances.
Using the newly opened spot on their 21-man preseason roster, the Thunder signed another OKC Blue veteran to an Exhibit 10 contract, announcing that they’ve added swingman Buddy Boeheim.
A 26-year-old who has made 24 NBA regular season appearances across three separate seasons, Boeheim saw action in 18 G League games last season and averaged 15.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 33.3 minutes per contest. Known for his shooting ability, the 6’5″ wing launched 10.6 three-point attempts per game for the Blue in 2025/26, converting 37.2% of them.
In all likelihood, Boeheim will be waived before the end of the day. His Exhibit 10 deal will make him eligible to earn a bonus worth up to $91K if he heads back to the G League and spends at least 60 days with the Blue.
