The Raptors have completing a series of roster moves, announcing today that they’ve converted big man Nate Bittle from his Exhibit 10 deal to a two-way contract while waiving their other five camp invitees, Tyreke Key, Nimari Burnett, Tyson Degenhart, Jamarion Sharp, and Jalen Celestine, per Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca (Twitter link).
Bittle, a seven-foot center who spent five years at Oregon, started nearly every game over his final four college seasons after coming off the bench for spot minutes as a freshman. He averaged 16.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game in 2025/26 and was named to the Big Ten’s All-Defensive team in ’24/25.
After signing with the Raptors as an undrafted free agent, Bittle had a strong Summer League showing for the club, averaging 9.8 PPG, 6.8 RPG, 2.8 BPG, and 2.2 APG in four outings (20.6 MPG) while posting an excellent shooting line of .500/.438/1.000.
Bittle has been sidelined during the preseason due to a foot injury and is likely still at least a month away from returning to game action, tweets Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca. However, it appears the team still wants to keep him on its roster entering the regular season based on what it saw in Las Vegas in July.
The Raptors recently waived two-way players Chucky Hepburn and Trey Jemison, so they had a pair of two-way openings alongside guard Malachi Smith. According to Murphy, that spot will be left open for now. It’s possible Toronto will target another team’s camp invitee who is waived on Saturday — one of those players could be claimed off waivers on Monday and converted to a two-way deal prior to the start of the regular season.
Key, Burnett, Degenhart, Sharp, and Celestine, who had been on Exhibit 10 contracts with Toronto, will likely end up reporting to the club’s G League affiliate, the Raptors 905.
