The Serbian icon wrote another chapter into tennis’ record books in Beijing

Novak Djokovic returned to Beijing for the first time in 11 years and completely flipped the script on the second half of his 2026 season. Struggling with a nagging health issue that has sapped him of energy at the biggest events and sabotaged his results, Djokovic took the court hoping to find some semblance of the form that took him to the Australian Open final at the start of the season.
He did that, and then some, notching three Top 10 wins to remain undefeated in Beijing and take his career record in the Chinese capital to 34-0. During his stay, Djokovic confirmed his long-established goal of playing at least until the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and on court he displayed the type of tennis that could get him there.
“I always have high expectations of myself and always want to visualise myself with the trophy, particularly here in Beijing, a place where I have never lost. But I was also aware that reality is a little bit different these days,” Djokovic said during the trophy ceremony after taking out Alex de Minaur in the final.

“This year has been quite challenging for me: Lots of physical and health issues. I was just trying to find a good feeling on the court. I know that if I’m feeling well and striking the ball well, I can compete at the highest level. This week has been evidence of that.”
Every time the 24-time major champion takes the court, there is a good chance he’ll be breaking some records, and that was most certainly the case this week in China. Read on for a quick look at some of the history Djokovic made, by the numbers:
34 consecutive wins in Beijing. Djokovic is the first player to win that many matches without a loss at any event. Rafael Nadal (31 at Roland-Garros) previously held the record.

102 titles overall, which ranks third all-time and leaves Djokovic just one behind Roger Federer for second.
