The 43-36 final score of the Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans has never happened before in the history of the NFL. The final is the 1098th unique score in NFL history.
When we get a new final score in the NFL, it’s called Scorigami. Normally when we get a Scorigami it’s because a team scores an absolute boatload of points and often something weird happens, usually with two-point conversions.

In this game, the Titans converted a two-point conversion to make it 21-21 — a very normal score. But then Bengals safety started making things weird at 23-21. The Bengals couldn’t get a two-point conversion on a later touchdown after the Titans scored, making it 29-28. Then the Titans got a two-point on their next score to make it a seven-point lead at 36-29. The Bengals scored and kicked an extra point and the game sat at 36-36 at the end of regulation.
That tie at 36-36 would have also been a Scorigami but 39-36 would not have been. It should also be noted that an overtime touchdown would have won the game without an extra point before this season and 42-36 has also happened before.
We had two Scorigamis on September 13th but haven’t had one since. The NFL averages around four of these per season and we already have three halfway through the season.
September 13: Chicago Bears 59, Carolina Panthers 37
September 13: Minnesota Vikings 39, Green Bay Packers 22
November 1: Cincinnati Bengals 43, Tennessee Titans 36
