Former NBA player Malik Beasley has agreed to plead guilty to gambling charges, according to multiple reports on Tuesday.
Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic reports the guilty plea will take place in Brooklyn on Dec. 9 after an investigation by the United States Department of Justice.
Beasley, 29, was among six people indicted in June as part of a larger sports gambling scheme. He initially pleaded not guilty to the charges. Beasley was accused of attempting to fix his performance in at least four games while a member of the Milwaukee Bucks in 2024.
Beasley will be the second NBA player in recent years to plead guilty to gambling-related charges. Former Toronto Raptor Jontay Porter admitted guilt in a separate gambling scheme in 2024. Porter has not yet been sentenced, but the NBA has permanently banned him from participating.
Beasley last played in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons in 2024-25. He also appeared in games for the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers over his nine-year career.
