Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed, who also returns kicks, added another title in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers — tailback. He had two carries for 33 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown. Shaheed was seeing carries with the team light at running back due to rookie RB Jadarian Price on the reserve/injured list, and RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) not quite ready to return from a torn ACL.
“We’ve had that in all [training] camp,” coach Mike Macdonald said Monday, Oct. 5. “This isn’t a quote from [offensive coordinator Brian] Fleury, but felt like it was appropriate because of [Price] going down, he gave us some speed. That was cool.”

Why it Matters: Shaheed’s flirtation as the new Ty Montgomery may be short-lived, as they signed veteran Joe Mixon to the practice squad, while Robert Henry Jr. was also signed from Washington’s practice squad. As such, Shaheed is best deployed only in the deepest of fantasy leagues and as an option in specialty leagues which reward individual return yardage.
