The Los Angeles Rams signed linebacker Eric Kendricks to the practice squad on Tuesday, potentially setting up a potential change to the game day roster in the near future. Kendricks played for the San Francisco 49ers down the stretch last season, helping with several losses they had at linebacker during the season, and he had 19 tackles in two playoff games.
That includes three tackles for a loss.
The 34-year-old veteran has been a free agent for all of 2026. This could be a situation similar to 2025, when Kendricks was added to the 49ers practice squad in November and then joined the team in December.

A second-round pick out of UCLA in 2015, Kendricks spent eight seasons with the Minnesota Vikings prior to stops with the L.A. Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and 49ers. The Rams are his fifth career team, but first he needs to get onto the game day roster, either as an elevation or signing to the 53-man roster.
The Rams may not be completely satisfied with what they’ve seen by Omar Speights, but Nate Landman hasn’t been worth every penny of the three-year, $22 million contract he signed either. This is a competition that continues to see action.
