Minor Moves: Hornets, Rockets, Hawks, Jazz, Nets
The Hornets have made a series of roster moves affecting the back of their 21-man preseason roster, announcing today that they waived forward Wyatt Fricks and signed guard DaJuan Gordon (Twitter links), then waived Gordon to sign guard Latrell Wrightsell (Twitter links).
Gordon, who went undrafted out of UT Arlington in 2024, has spent most of the past two years in the G League. In 2025/26, he made 34 total appearances for the Noblesville Boom, averaging 12.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 27.6 minutes per game and posting a shooting line of .523/.456/.657.
Wrightsell, a 6’3″ guard, went undrafted out of Alabama earlier this year. He’s a high-volume three-point shooter who connected at 36% last season on 7.8 attempts per game. He also posted 13.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 27.3 minutes per contest for the Crimson Tide before agreeing to terms on a deal with the Hornets in June.
Fricks’ deal with Charlotte included Exhibit 10 language and it’s safe to assume Gordon’s and Wrightsell’s do as well. The Hornets likely envision all three players suiting up this fall for the Greensboro Swarm, who recently acquired Gordon’s returning rights in a trade with the Boom.
Here are more of the latest transactions from around the NBA:
- Former Mississippi State forward Cameron Matthews has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Rockets, reports Varun Shankar of The Houston Chronicle (Twitter link). Matthews spent his first professional season in 2025/26 with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, playing in 48 games and averaging 12.0 PPG, 5.6 RPG, and 3.2 APG for Houston’s G League affiliate. His new deal with Houston appears designed to ensure he receives a bonus on top of his G League base salary as long as he returns to the Vipers and spends at least 60 days with the team this season.
- A day after signing him to an Exhibit 10 deal, the Hawks have waived forward Giorgi Bezhanishvili, according to a press release from the team. Bezhanishvili will likely open the season with the College Park Skyhawks and will receive an Exhibit 10 bonus if he spends at least 60 days with Atlanta’s G League team.
- The Jazz announced in a press release that they’ve placed forwards Taylor Funk and Chance Moore on waivers. Both players had been on Exhibit 10 contracts and figure to report this fall to the Salt Lake City Stars, Utah’s G League affiliate.
- After appearing in a pair of preseason games for the Nets, swingman Ben Humrichous has been waived, tweets Brian Lewis of The New York Post. Undrafted out of Illinois earlier this year, Humrichous is on track to begin his rookie season with the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s G League team.
