The Magic have reached an agreement with Malaki Branham, agent Deirunas Visockas tells Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (Twitter link). 

It’s an Exhibit 10 deal, a league source informs Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel (Twitter link), which likely means Branham will be brought to training camp with the chance to earn a roster spot.

The 23-year-old combo guard spent three seasons with San Antonio after being selected with the 20th pick in the 2022 draft. He was traded to Washington last summer and then sent to Charlotte in February. The Hornets waived him four days later, and he finished out the season with the Cleveland Charge in the G League.

Branham was a highly regarded prospect after spending one year at Ohio State and was a part-time starter in his first two seasons with the Spurs. He fell out of the rotation as the roster improved and failed to make much of an impact during his time with the Wizards.

In 216 total NBA games, Branham is averaging 8.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 17.8 minutes per night while shooting 44.1% from the field and 33.9% from three-point range.

Orlando currently has 14 players with standard contracts, including Jamal Cain‘s partially guaranteed deal. Branham isn’t eligible for a two-way contract because he already has four years of NBA experience.
