The steady stream of trade rumors involving Jaylen Brown has rival front offices believing the Celtics star will eventually be moved, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. As Scotto writes, those executives are wondering “when and where” Brown will be traded, not “if.”
The Trail Blazers, Raptors, Nuggets, Nets, Hornets, Hawks and Clippers are among the teams that have expressed interest in Brown, league sources tell HoopsHype.
According to Scotto, Portland didn’t make Deni Avdija available in trade talks for Giannis Antetokounmpo, and the same is true of the team’s pursuit of Brown. While the Celtics would have interest in both Toumani Camara and Donovan Clingan, the Blazers have been unwilling to part with either player to this point, Scotto reports.
However, former lottery picks Shaedon Sharpe and Scoot Henderson are among the Blazers’ young players who are considered available in trade talks for Brown.
Of the other teams listed, Scotto hears the Hornets expressed exploratory interest in Brown with a package centered around Naz Reid and Miles Bridges. However, those talks have “cooled,” according to Scotto.
Scotto suggests Atlanta seems unlikely to make an “all-in” deal for Brown and says Los Angeles was mainly linked to the 29-year-old wing leading up to the draft, when the team controlled the fifth overall pick, which it used to select Keaton Wagler.
While the Pelicans, Rockets and Magic have been “loosely” connected to Brown, none of them appear to be pursuing him at the moment, per Scotto.
