Former UNC guard Seth Trimble is joining the Wizards after going undrafted, according to an announcement from the Tar Heels’ men’s basketball team (Twitter link).
While the program doesn’t specify the details of Trimble’s agreement with Washington, Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress and RookieScale.com confirms to Hoops Rumors that the plan is for him to sign an Exhibit 10 contract.
Trimble, who will turn 22 in August, spent all four years of his college career at North Carolina, coming off the bench in his first two seasons before starting part-time as a junior and full-time as a senior. The 6’3″ shooting guard missed time early in the 2025/26 season with a broken forearm, but was a reliable contributor in the 24 games he played, averaging 14.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals in 32.5 minutes per contest.
In his draft guide, Sam Vecenie of The Athletic ranked Trimble 71st among this year’s prospects and noted that he’s a strong defender whose jump shot remains a work in progress. He converted just 29.4% of his three-pointers as a Tar Heel.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a non-guaranteed training camp deal that makes a player eligible for a bonus worth up to $91K if he’s waived and then spends at least 60 days with his team’s G League affiliate. It can also be converted into a two-way contract prior to opening night.
