Former Syracuse center/forward William Kyle plans to sign an Exhibit 10 training camp contract with the Lakers, reports Dave McMenamin of ESPN (via Twitter).
Kyle went undrafted this week, making him an unrestricted free agent.
A 22-year-old big man, Kyle averaged 8.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.0 steal and 2.5 blocks in 28.1 minutes per contest (32 games) as a senior for the Orange. He previously played for South Dakota State and UCLA.
Kyle, who came in at No. 83 on Jeremy Woo of ESPN’s big board, could earn a bonus worth up to $91K (that’s a projection) if he’s waived before the season starts and spends at least 60 days in the G League with the South Bay Lakers. His Exhibit 10 agreement, which is non-guaranteed, could also be converted to a two-way deal.
