Most of the fantasy football angles in Island Games were a dud in Week 1, with a few exceptions. So it was fun to cleanse the palate with Buffalo‘s high-scoring 41-31 win over Detroit on Thursday Night Football in Week 2 (only DJ Moore — injured — and Jameson Williams let us down). Here are four quick fantasy takeaways.

This could be Josh Allen’s break-the-game season

Allen already has an MVP on his mantle and a Hall of Fame resume built. But maybe this is the season where he wrecks the game and obliterates everything in his path, his 2007 Tom Brady, his 2013 Peyton Manning. The Week 1 demolition of a great Houston defense should have been a signal. Two games, nine total Allen touchdowns.

Detroit’s carnival is real and glorious

Between injuries and the Terrion Arnold situation, the Detroit secondary is down four primary pieces from three months ago. Tyler Shough did whatever he wanted after halftime in Week 1, and the Lions had no answer for Allen and friends. Leaky defense, fun offense, this is forever the winning fantasy formula. I don’t like looking far ahead on the schedule too often, but I pray the fantasy gods give us clean weather when the Lions play at the Bears in Week 17.

Dalton Kincaid can be a league winner

Kincaid had a 5-130-0 push at Houston and then stacked 7-95-1 last night. After playing 38% of the snaps last year (knee maintenance), he’s up to 69% in the fresh season. A healthy Kincaid will easily smash his ADP.

Keon Coleman looks competent

The Bills suspect the DJ Moore shoulder injury is not serious, but it’s worth noting that Coleman was solid (6-63-0) after Moore left, securing all six of his targets. Player development is not always linear. Perhaps Coleman (2% rostered) is ready to be a productive NFL player.
