According to the NFL’s official transactions report form Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs have elevated defensive tackle Marcus Harris from the practice squad for their Week 9 game against the New York Jets.
Harris notably made the Chiefs’ initial roster coming out of training camp only to find himself cut the next day as defensive lineman Bryson Eason and defensive end Jack Pyburn were added off waivers. Harris immediately signed to Kansas City’s practice squad.

The Chiefs elevated Harris for their first two games while Eason worked into the system, and the former Kansas Jayhawk played a total of seven defensive snaps. With rookie defensive tackle Peter Woods ruled out on this week’s final injury report, Harris seemingly has a path to bigger role in his third appearance of 2026.
Having exhausted the three permitted practice squad elevations on the season, the Chiefs would have to add Harris back onto the active roster for him to play again before the process resets for hypothetical postseason games. However, second-year defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott appears to be nearing a return from a torn ACL suffered in 2025. Norman-Lott is nearing the end of his 21-day practice window to the activated from the Reserve/Physically-Unable-to-Perform list.
As an elevated player, Harris will immediately return to the practice squad after Sunday’s game.

Kansas City did not use their other permitted practice squad elevation for Week 9. This would imply that punt returner Nikko Remigio will play after being listed as questionable with a hip injury. The Chiefs added rookie return man Jacob De Jesus — who atteded training camp with the team — to the practice squad on Wednesday, seemingly as insurance in case Remigio could not go.
