Free agent guard Johnny Davis has signed with Manisa Basket in Turkey, the team announced (Twitter link; hat tip to Sportando).
The 10th overall pick of the 2022 NBA draft, Davis spent parts of three seasons with the Wizards prior to being traded to the Grizzlies in February 2025. He has been out of the NBA since Memphis waived him later that month.
Davis never lived up to his pre-draft status after a standout sophomore season at Wisconsin, where he was a consensus first-team All-American and earned Big Ten Player of the Year honors in 2021/22. He averaged just 3.5 points and 1.6 rebounds in 11.4 minutes per game across 112 appearances with the Wizards, posting an efficient shooting line of .397/.273/.561.
A Wisconsin native who grew up in La Crosse, Davis spent last season in the G League with the Bucks‘ G affiliate team, the Wisconsin Herd. In 27 games (27.2 MPG) with the Herd in 2025/26, the 24-year-old shooting guard averaged 15.1 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 1.8 APG and 1.4 SPG on .459/.356/.680 shooting splits. nba g league
This will be Davis’ first overseas stint. Manisa Basket competes in Turkey’s top domestic league (the Basketbol Süper Ligi).
