Undrafted free agent guard Jaron Pierre Jr. and the Pelicans have agreed to a two-way contract, Marc Stein of The Stein Line tweets.

Pierre played for four colleges, beginning with Southern Miss during the 2020/21 season. After two years there, he transferred to Wichita State for one season. He was redshirted the following season and starred at Jacksonville State in 2024/25, averaging 21.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists. That earned him the Conference USA Player of the Year honors.

He wound up at SMU for his final college year, averaging 17.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists. He posted a shooting line of .462/.370/.758.

The New Orleans native suited up in three Summer League games with the Pelicans and averaged 10 points in 22 minutes per game despite poor shooting percentages.

Center Hunter Dickinson holds one of the other two-way spots. The Pelicans will have one more two-way spot left once Pierre signs his contract.
