Free agent center Jamarion Sharp is signing with the Raptors and will compete for a two-way contract, reports Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca (via Twitter).
Toronto’s preseason roster is currently at the 21-player limit, so the Raptors will have to waive someone to add Sharp. The most likely candidates are Exhibit 10 training camp invitees Tyreke Key, Nate Bittle, Nimari Burnett and Tyson Degenhart.
Murphy’s report suggests Sharp will sign an Exhibit 10 deal, which can be converted into a two-way contract as long as the player is eligible. Sharp qualifies, since he doesn’t have any NBA experience.
Sharp spent Summer League with the Raptors, who were considering signing him to a two-way contract after he averaged 7.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in just 18.2 minutes per game across five appearances, per Murphy. Instead, he ended up signing a two-way deal with the Clippers in early August, but he was waived in late September and had been without a team until now.
Sharp, 25, went undrafted out of Ole Miss in 2024 and has played primarily for the Texas Legends in the G League since then. The 7’5″ big man had a huge year for the Legends in 2025/26, earning a spot on the G League’s All-Defensive team and being named NBAGL Defensive Player of the Year after leading the league with 3.9 BPG in just 24.9 MPG.
An elite rim protector in both the G League and in college, Sharp led the NCAA in blocked shots in 2021/22 (4.6 per game) and ’22/23 (4.1) while playing for Western Kentucky. He also led the SEC in blocks per game (2.4) in ’23/24 with Ole Miss despite averaging just 15.8 MPG.
As our tracker shows, Toronto’s three two-way spots are currently held by Chucky Hepburn, Trey Jemison and Malachi Smith. If Sharp were to make the team, one of those players would have to be waived.
