The Jacksonville Jaguars open their season at home Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, looking to build on a playoff berth a year ago and take the next step toward Super Bowl contention. But the road there got a little bumpier during training camp, where a rash of injuries resulted in most projected starters being held out of game action all preseason, leaving Jacksonville with potentially some game speed concerns heading into Week 1.
Injuries have been a storyline all week for both sides. With Wednesday’s practice complete, here’s where things stand heading into Sunday:

OT Cole Van Lanen – Knee – Limited
RB LeQuint Allen Jr. – Hip – DNP
Meyers jammed his thumb during a joint practice with the Panthers and sat out the following week’s joint sessions with the Buccaneers, but he’s listed as a limited participant and is expected to play. Van Lanen, recently activated off PUP, is still working back from the knee injury he suffered in Week 18 of last season — he too is limited in practice with hopes of suiting up. Allen Jr. has not practiced since suffering a soft-tissue hip injury a couple of weeks ago. Head coach Liam Coen said Wednesday that both Van Lanen and Allen Jr. will be game-time decisions.

On the opponent’s side, Browns starting right guard Teven Jenkins got tangled up during a practice drill on Wednesday and left practice with trainers. Schwesinger, who missed much of training camp with a shoulder injury, returned as a full participant on Friday. Collins has been managing a quad issue throughout the week. All three Browns are expected to play Sunday.
The trio of Jaguars players on the mid-week injury report carry real weight for this game, so it’ll be interesting to see how things progress as we end the week.
Which of the three Jaguars do you think is the most important for the results of Sunday’s contest?
