The Heat have signed undrafted free agent guard/forward J’Vonne Hadley, the team announced in a press release.

While the terms of Hadley’s agreement with Miami were not disclosed, Ira Winderman of The South Florida Sun Sentinel and Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald both confirm that it’s an Exhibit 10 deal for training camp (Twitter links).

Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress reported shortly after June’s draft that Hadley had an Exhibit 10 agreement in place with the Heat. Reporting earlier this month indicated that the contract remained on track to be completed.

Contracts that feature Exhibit 9 language can’t be completed until a team has 14 players on standard deals. Miami hit that threshold earlier on Thursday when it formally signed free agent center Nick Richards. The Exhibit 9 clause is important because it protects a team in the event of a preseason injury.

Hadley, a 6’6″ swingman, played for Northeastern, Indian Hills Community College (Iowa), Colorado and Louisville over the course of his college career. He spent his final two NCAA seasons with the Cardinals, averaging 11.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 steals on .538/.411/.741 shooting splits in 69 games over that span (30.8 minutes per contest).

Hadley played eight total games for the Heat during the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer Leagues last month, averaging 5.6 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 1.5 APG and 1.0 BPG.

Exhibit 10 contracts are non-guaranteed and can be converted to two-way deals. Hadley will have the opportunity to earn a bonus worth up to $91K if he’s waived before the start of the season and spends at least 60 days with the Miami’s G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
