The Hawks and their G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks, have made a handful of staffing changes, according to a press release.

Front office executive Ryan Silverstein has been named College Park’s new general manager after serving as the team’s basketball operations coordinator and a coaching assistant during the Skyhawks’ inaugural season in 2019/20.

Silverstein, who is entering his 10th year with the Hawks organization, will continue in his role as Atlanta’s vice president of cap strategy and player personnel.

The Skyhawks have also named Sanjay Lumpkin as head coach and Reggis Onwukamuche as associate head coach. Interestingly, both Lumpkin and Onwukamuche, who are currently Hawks assistants under Quin Snyder and will remain on Atlanta’s staff, played for College Park during that same inaugural season.

“The Skyhawks are a significant part of our development program, and both Ryan and Sanjay exemplify the strong connection between the Hawks and Skyhawks,” said Hawks president of basketball operations Onsi Saleh. “Ryan has been a valuable member of our front office for several years and has grown into a key contributor, particularly in our salary cap strategy and planning efforts.

“Sanjay is a highly respected and emerging coach on Coach Snyder’s staff, and this opportunity will play an important role in his continued advancement. Both have earned these opportunities, and we’re excited to see them continue to grow and make meaningful contributions to our program.”

Aaron Evans had been the Skyhawks’ GM for the past two seasons, and he will remain with the Hawks, having been promoted to a pro scout. Steve Klei, who has spent the past two years in a dual role of College Park head coach and Hawks assistant, will now be a full-time assistant under Snyder.
