Former Nuggets forward Hunter Tyson has reached a contract agreement with Italy’s Maxima Roma, Sportando relays via Superbasket.

Tyson was the odd man out in a salary dump in early February, as the Nuggets dealt him to the Nets in order to duck the luxury tax. He never played for the Nets, who picked up a future second-rounder in the deal and quickly waived him.

Tyson was the 37th overall pick in the 2023 draft but never became a trusted part of Michael Malone‘s or David Adelman‘s rotation. The 6’8″ forward made 90 total regular-season appearances, averaging 2.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in 6.8 minutes per game while shooting 34.9% from the field.

Last season, he played in 21 games (two starts) and averaged 2.2 points and 1.7 rebounds in 7.7 minutes per game. He had a season-high 14 points in 19 minutes during an overtime victory over Philadelphia in early January.

Tyson finished out last season in Puerto Rico, signing with Gigantes de Carolina of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional league. He appeared in 16 games, averaging 18 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.
