The Canadian big man has agreed to a contract with BC Roma, a club in Italy’s top basketball league, it announced Saturday.
Olynyk spent the 2025-26 season with the Western Conference champion San Antonio Spurs, appearing in 42 games while averaging 3.2 points on 49 per cent shooting.
The 35-year-old also saw nine games of playoff action during the Spurs’ run to the NBA Finals.
A staple of the Canadian national team, Olynyk most recently suited up for his country at the 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifiers in August.
Olynyk was selected 13th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks before having his rights dealt to the Boston Celtics.
The Toronto native played in 13 NBA seasons, spending time with Boston, Miami, Houston, Detroit, Utah, Toronto, New Orleans and San Antonio. He owns career averages of 9.8 points, five rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting 48.6 per cent from the field and 36.9 per cent from three.
