Gary Trent Jr. will remain with the Bucks on a four-year, $64MM contract, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul and agent Lucas Newton tell ESPN’s Shams Charania (Twitter link). Trent’s representatives have been negotiating with the team since the NBA Finals ended and considered sign-and-trade offers from several interested teams over the past week, Charania adds (Twitter link).
The new deal is fully guaranteed with no option years for Trent or the Bucks, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (Twitter link).
Trent’s salary for the upcoming season will be $15.2MM, according to Bobby Marks of ESPN, who notes that the 27-year-old wing signed short-term contracts with Milwaukee the past two years to establish Early Bird rights and make the new deal possible. The contract that Trent agreed to last July contained a $3,881,960 player option that he turned down last month.
