Now 1-0, the Buffalo Bills are smack dab in the middle of a very short week of prep before facing the Detroit Lions for their home opener at the new Highmark Stadium. The Bills took it to the Texans this past Sunday, winning 36-31 behind the arm and legs of quarterback Josh Allen and two massive plays by outside linebacker Greg Rousseau.

It was Buffalo’s first win in Houston in 20 years, and also new head coach Joe Brady’s first win in the lead chair. Despite the coaching changes that also includes new, first-time NFL defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard installing a base 3-4 system, the Bills are once again a popular pick to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

Longtime readers of Buffalo Rumblings and most of Bills Mafia agree the only thing that matters is the Bills getting to and winning a Super Bowl. Allen is in year nine of his career, and the front office has moved on from Sean McDermott.

Based on Buffalo’s performance in Week 1, heading into a huge home opener against the Detroit Lions, and considering the moves made in the coaching ranks, does it feel to you as though the team is headed in the right direction?
