The Detroit Pistons will have to survive a bit longer without their star man down the middle.
Centre Jalen Duren is set to miss at least two more weeks with a hamstring strain suffered back in October, the team announced Sunday.
However, the Pistons added that Duren is making progress in his rehab and has been cleared to resume basketball activities.
Duren suffered the injury in the second quarter of the Pistons’ Oct. 23 win over the Miami Heat, and the team had originally announced that he would be reevaluated in two weeks.
The 22-year-old has suited up for only two games this season but averaged 13 points, 7.5 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in that short stint.
Duren inked a five-year, $200-million contract extension with the Pistons earlier in October after a lengthy dispute between the two sides.
In his absence, the Pistons have played to a 4-2 record and are 6-2 on the season — good for third in the Eastern Conference.
