All-Star big man Chet Holmgren underwent a biological treatment on Friday to address a small patellar tendon tear in his right knee, the Thunder announced in a press release.
The expectation, according to the team, is that Holmgren will make a full recovery and return to action in approximately eight-to-10 weeks.
Holmgren earned numerous accolades last season, including third-team All-NBA and first-team All-Defense, after averaging 17.1 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocks on .557/.362/.792 shooting in 69 regular season appearances (28.9 minutes per game). He finished runner-up to Victor Wembanyama in Defensive Player of the Year voting.
