Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova sealed Czechia’s return to the Billie Jean King Cup semifinals.

Czechia arrived in China on a mission to regain the Billie Jean King Cup.

Today, the Czechs charged past Great Britain into the Billie Jean King Cup semifinals at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Centre Arena in Shenzhen, China.

Wimbledon winner Linda Noskova fired 15 aces defeating British No. 1 Katie Boulter 6-4, 7-6(3) giving Czechia an insurmountable 2-0 lead over Great Britain in the best-of-three-match quarterfinals.

“It’s all about the team competition,” Noskova said. “It doesn’t really matter whose singles ranking is what.

“Obviously I worked my whole year to get where I am. But this is a team competition, so every point in every match counts.”

Earlier, Marie Bouzkova battled past a stubborn Sonay Kartal 7-6(2), 4-6, 6-4 in a three-hour marathon match to stake Czechia to a 1-0 lead.

Eleven-time champion Czechia advanced to Friday’s semifinals where it will face either Spain or Kazakhstan, which is playing without world No. 1 Elena Rybakina. US Open champion Rybakina, who injured her Achilles at the Cincinnati Open last month, withdrew from the Billie Jean King Cup Finals.

Earlier, the 27th-ranked Bouzkova converted four of nine break points to fend off Kartal in a pulsating battle to set the stage for Noskova’s quarterfinal clincher.

It’s been a great week for Czechia. On Saturday, the Czech Davis Cup squad, led by Jiri Lehecka and Jakub Mensiki, rallied from a 1-2 deficit to defeat the United States, 3-2, in Prague and advance to the Davis Cup Final 8 in Bologna, Italy.
