The Sixers have reached a two-way agreement with Caleb Love, sources tell ESPN’s Shams Charania (Twitter link).
The 24-year-old shooting guard signed a two-way contract with Portland last summer after five collegiate seasons, three at North Carolina and two at Arizona. He appeared in 49 games as a rookie (one start), averaging 10.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 20.7 minutes per night. However, shooting was a concern as he connected at just 38.8% from the field and 31.8% from three-point range.
Love got a chance to play meaningful basketball with the Trail Blazers in the midst of a playoff race and proved to be an aggressive defender and creative playmaker. He wasn’t eligible for the postseason as Portland advanced through the play-in tournament and lost to San Antonio in the first round, but he played a role in helping the team get there.
