Yet another big name has been added to the NBA’s injury report amidst a tough start to the 2026-27 season.
The severity of the injury and recovery timeline were not immediately announced, and it’s unclear if he’ll miss more than the game against New York.
According to head coach Nick Nurse, Brown had reported soreness in his knee following Wednesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers and was unable to go through shootaround Friday.
Brown, acquired in a blockbuster off-season trade with the Boston Celtics, has gotten off to a solid start in Philadelphia, averaging 20.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 44.2 per cent from the field and a career-high 40.9 per cent from three in five games.
His numbers are down from the 2025-26 season in Boston, when he was tasked with being the primary option with teammate Jayson Tatum out for most of the year. Now with Philly, he’s split his scoring with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and huge free-agent addition LeBron James.
