The Toronto native signed with Turkish club Fenerbahce, the team announced on Friday.
Powell was released by the Dallas Mavericks earlier in October after a 12-year run with the franchise.
The 35-year-old Powell was in and out of the rotation throughout his time with the Mavericks. He played all but five of his 768 games with Dallas, including 266 starts, averaging 6.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 17.5 minutes per game.
He joins Kelly Olynyk, who signed with Italy’s BC Roma, as veteran Canadian NBAers who have moved onto Europe since last season.
Powell was part of Canada’s bronze-medal-winning World Cup team in 2023. He also played for the national team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Canada was eliminated by host France in the quarterfinals.
