WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Students and staff at Adams Elementary School in Wichita had an exciting day on Tuesday as the school received new equipment for their physical education classes.

Thanks to a $2,500 grant from the Genesis Foundation for Fitness and Tennis, the school received brand new foam balls. Grady Beehler, the school’s PE teacher, said the foam balls mean a lot to the school and the students.

“Those foam soccer balls that we got, we did not have any of those, and it’s really been hard for us to teach the curriculum that we normally teach at other schools,” Beehler said. “So having those foam soccer balls is going to be a game changer at Adams.”

This is the 20th year that the Genesis Foundation has given sports equipment to area schools. The foundation also has events throughout the year where they provide students with free athletic shoes and free beds to sleep on.
