The defending champs made sure of it, thanks to a 123-108 Game 3 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday.

Leading that charge was Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, as the Hamilton, Ont. native finished with 26 points and 12 assists. He shot a tepid 6-of-17 from the field but made up for it by going 12-of-12 from the free throw line, all of which came in the second half.

Backing up the two-time MVP was the Thunder second unit, which poured in a franchise-record 76 points (plus-53). Jared McCain racked up 24 points on 10-of-21 shooting, while Jaylin Williams chipped in 18 points on 5-of-6 from distance, as both players set new playoff career-highs in scoring.

San Antonio took what seemed to be a commanding 15-0 lead to open the contest, but Oklahoma City stormed back — outscoring the Spurs 58-36 from that point — by halftime.

A rally that was underscored by the fact that the Thunder won the five minutes Victor Wembanyama sat in the first half by 19 points.

The French forward played for all but four minutes in the second half, as the Spurs finished the night being outscored 30-11 in the nine minutes without Wembanyama.
