David Jones Garcia is returning to the Spurs on a two-way contract, agents Deirunas Visockas and Guillermo Bermejo tells Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (Twitter link).

A 6’4″ guard/forward, Jones Garcia parlayed an excellent Summer League performance in 2025 into a two-way deal with the Spurs. Although he had previously spent a bit of time on two-way contracts in Philadelphia and Utah during the 2024/25 league year, he didn’t make his NBA regular season debut until last fall with San Antonio.

Jones Garcia played sparingly in 11 appearances at the NBA level, but he had a big year in the G League, averaging 26.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.1 blocks in 32.7 minutes per game over the course of 16 outings for the Austin Spurs. He shot just 41.6% from the floor, including 27.7% on three-point tries, but did make 84.7% of his free throws.

One of seven G League players selected to participate in the Rising Stars event at G League weekend, Jones Garcia ultimately wasn’t able to take part after undergoing season-ending surgery on his right ankle in early February.

The Spurs issued Jones Garcia a qualifying offer in June, so he’s likely just signing that offer, which is equivalent to another one-year, two-way contract and includes a partial guarantee of $91K.

In order to finalize Jones Garcia’s deal, San Antonio will have to waive one of its current two-way players, Ja’Kobi Gillespie, Maliq Brown, or Emanuel Miller. Given that Gillespie and Brown were 2026 second-round draft picks who just signed new contracts earlier this month, Miller seems likely to be the odd man out.

Jones Garcia’s new contract with San Antonio will leave Isaiah Crawford of the Rockets as the only two-way restricted free agent who remains unsigned.
