Leicestershire batter Sol Budinger will be out of action for up to 12 weeks because of a knee problem.
The left-hander suffered the injury in a collision with team-mate Liam Trevaskis playing against Lancashire in the T20 Blast at Old Trafford on 29 May.
He had to be driven from the boundary edge on a stretcher and the club say a scan has revealed a grade two medial collateral ligament injury.
“It’s still a bit swollen,” Budinger told BBC Radio Leicester on Sunday.
“I know Liam was very distraught but I’ve spoken to him and he’s all right now.
“The way he’s bowled in the last two games [five wickets], I’m happy for him and it’s good to see.”
Budinger has scored 56 runs in three T20 Blast games and also made two appearances in the County Championship this season.
He joined Leicestershire from East Midlands neighbours Nottinghamshire in 2022.
